The Desert Eagle (commonly called the Deagle) is a high-powered pistol available to both teams in Counter-Strike 2. It is the most iconic pistol in the franchise, capable of one-shot headshots against helmeted opponents — a feat shared only with the R8 Revolver among pistols.

Overview

At $700, the Desert Eagle is the most expensive pistol in CS2. Its power justifies the cost: 53 base damage with 93.2% armor penetration means it can kill a helmeted opponent with a single headshot at virtually any range. This makes the Desert Eagle a potent option on eco rounds and force buys, giving the wielder a chance to win duels against fully equipped opponents.

The trade-off is extreme recoil between shots, a small 7-round magazine, and poor accuracy while moving. The Desert Eagle rewards patience and precision — miss your shots, and you are left vulnerable.

Usage Tips

  • The Desert Eagle can one-shot headshot helmeted opponents, making it lethal on eco and force-buy rounds.
  • Stand still when shooting — the Deagle is extremely inaccurate while moving.
  • Wait for the recoil to reset between shots. Spamming shots will result in wild inaccuracy.
  • With only 7 rounds, every shot counts. Take your time and aim for the head.
  • The Deagle is strongest at medium to long range where its headshot capability can be fully leveraged.
  • At close range, consider body shots — two quick body shots can be more reliable than going for the head.

Competitive Meta

The Desert Eagle is the most purchased pistol on eco and force-buy rounds across all levels of play. Its ability to one-shot helmeted opponents makes it the great equalizer, capable of swinging rounds that would otherwise be heavily favored for the buying team. Many highlight-reel plays in professional Counter-Strike feature the Desert Eagle.
