The FAMAS is the budget rifle for Counter-Terrorists, offering a cheaper alternative to the M4 variants at $2050. It features a unique 3-round burst mode in addition to automatic fire, making it versatile across different engagement ranges.
When to Buy
Buy the FAMAS on force-buy rounds when you cannot afford an M4 but want a rifle over an SMG. The $1050 savings (vs. M4A4) allows you to buy full utility. The FAMAS is also viable on half-buy rounds as a bridge between eco and full-buy.
Aim Techniques
- Burst Mode — Right-click for 3-round burst fire, which is extremely accurate at medium to long range. Each burst is tight and controlled.
- Auto for Close Range — Switch to automatic at close range for higher DPS when spray control is less critical.
- First Bullet Accuracy — Decent but not exceptional — avoid long-range duels against AK-47s or AWPs when possible.
Engagement Range
The burst mode makes the FAMAS surprisingly effective at medium-to-long range. At close range, automatic fire is preferred. The 25-round magazine is adequate but requires reload management in extended fights.
Spray Pattern
In automatic mode, the FAMAS recoil climbs vertically then shifts right. In burst mode, each 3-round burst has minimal recoil, making it the preferred mode for precision at range.
